How your photo is handled
Before you keep it
The camera runs on your own device. Your browser finds your eyes so your face lines up with the stranger's. Nothing leaves your device until you press Keep it.
What is kept
The black and white photo you kept, the time you added it, the country and the state, province or territory your connection came from, and the results of the check below. The state shows with your face, or the country when there is no state. No name, no email, no account and no tracking. Photos are stored and checked on Cloudflare. A private server keeps a nightly safety copy of all this for up to 7 days.
Your browser remembers the number of your own face, so it can tell you when someone finishes it. That stays on your device.
What is not kept
Your IP address. Cloudflare, which runs the site, sees it when you connect, like any web host, and this site does not store it. To stop floods, photos and reports are counted per connection under a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your address. Counts are deleted the next day, and report codes after 30 days.
The check
Before a photo appears, an automated check looks for one real face of an adult and nothing else. It turns away nudity and anything sexual, ads, logos, signs, websites, handles and QR codes, hateful or violent content, drawings, screens, other photos, animals, and photos of more than one person. A photo that fails is not saved.
Who sees it
Everyone who visits. Your photo sits next to a stranger's for as long as the site exists, or until you take it down.
Taking your face down
When you add your face you get a private link. Open it to delete your photo for good. Safety copies, kept by Cloudflare and on a private server, expire within 7 days.
If you lost the link, find your face and choose Take down, then This is me. It disappears at once, and it is deleted for good after 30 days.
Reporting a face
If a face should not be here, choose Take down, then It breaks the rules. The photo is checked again by a stricter check and hidden if it fails. If the check cannot run right then, the page tells you, and you can report it again later.
Age
You must be 18 or older to add your face.
